Landing Page Design

Landing pages are web pages that appear when a site visitor clicks an advertisement on a web page. The advertisement can be an animated banner ad, formatted text , or a static image. When a user clicks the advertisement, the user is directed to a landing page.  The landing page contains the detail about the product or service being sold.

The landing page may take on various characteristics to include text, images, and multimedia presentations. This page is a great way to break out of your standard website look and feel and really focus on the message of your advertisement.

There are two common derivatives of a landing page: the reference and transactional. A reference landing page presents information that is relevant to the visitor. These can display text, images, dynamic compilations of relevant links, or other elements. This is akin to an advertisement in a magazine or newspaper. A transactional landing page has visitor interactions or other web page objects built in the advertisements. Another instance of the landing page is that it may request the site visitor to submit a transaction by completing a form. The form is programmatically setup to withhold the desired information until a predefined set of visitor data is provided, such as the visitor's email address, telephone and name. This data could be used to add to a mailing list.

The goal of each is to capture the interest of the site visitor and to make a sale of a the product or service being offered. Landing page features may consist of:
